The Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship is an opportunity for care professionals ready to take the next step in their career. As a Lead Adult Care Worker, you’ll act as a positive role model, supporting your team to deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

This apprenticeship is ideal if you’re already working in care and want to build confidence, leadership skills, and professional recognition. You’ll develop the knowledge and responsibility needed to support colleagues, contribute to care planning, and ensure individuals receive person-centred care that meets their needs.

What You'll Learn

Throughout the programme, you’ll build on your existing experience while developing the skills required to lead and support others effectively, including:

  • Leading, supporting, and mentoring care staff
  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining personalised care plans
  • Promoting person-centred care and dignity
  • Supporting individuals with complex or additional needs
  • Communicating confidently with professionals, families, and colleagues
  • Applying safeguarding procedures and health & safety requirements
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with individuals and their families

You’ll also complete:

  • The Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)
  • A portfolio of evidence demonstrating your leadership and care practice

You don’t need previous management experience ,just commitment, care experience, and a desire to develop.

You may also progress onto higher-level qualifications such as:

  • Typical Duration: 15–18 months Delivery Model: A flexible blended learning approach designed around your role, including:

Assessment
  • At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll complete an End Point Assessment (EPA), which includes:
