If you're passionate about enhancing your early years career and eager to play a meaningful role in supporting children's growth and development, you're in the right place. As an apprentice, you'll work hand-in-hand with experienced professionals in nurseries, preschools, and childcare settings. Together, you'll create nurturing environments that promote children's emotional, physical, and cognitive development, ensuring that each child feels included and stimulated.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will acquire advanced knowledge, skills, and behaviours that are vital for impactful early years practice, including:

  • Crafting and leading engaging play and learning activities
  • Nurturing children's communication, language, and early literacy skills
  • Observing and assessing learning, planning the proper next steps for each child
  • Championing children's health, safety, well-being, and emotional resilience

Additionally, you will complete:

  • The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Functional Skills in English and mathematics (where applicable)

Funding and Support

Levy-Paying Employers: You can fully utilise your Apprenticeship Levy contributions to cover the costs of your apprenticeship training.

 

Non-Levy Employers: The government covers 95% of training costs, so you'll only need to contribute 5%. Plus, there's full funding available for learners aged 16 to 21.

  • Typical Duration: 12–18 months

Assessment
  • Throughout the program, you'll build a dynamic portfolio that reflects your knowledge, skills, and professional development. The apprenticeship culminates in an End Point Assessment (EPA), which includes:
