As an apprentice, you'll immerse yourself in vibrant childcare settings, working hand-in-hand with seasoned early years professionals in nurseries and preschools. Together, you’ll create nurturing, inclusive environments that empower every child, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll develop advanced knowledge, skills, and behaviours crucial for high-quality early years practice, including:

  • Crafting and leading engaging, play-based learning activities
  • Fostering children's communication, language, and early literacy skills
  • Observing, assessing, and tracking children's progress to inform next steps
  • Championing children's health, safety, well-being, and emotional resilience
  • Implementing inclusive strategies to support diverse needs
  • Building strong, positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Upholding safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities
  • Serving as a positive role model within the early years team

You will also complete:

  • The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required)

Funding and Support

Levy-Paying Employers: Utilise your Apprenticeship Levy to fully fund your training.

Non-Levy Employers: The government covers 95% of training costs, requiring only a 5% employer contribution. Full funding is available for learners aged 16–21. Our Business Development Team is here to assist you with funding, eligibility, and enrollment.

Assessment
  • Throughout the program, you’ll create a portfolio that highlights your learning journey and professional growth. At the culmination of your apprenticeship, you’ll undergo an End Point Assessment (EPA), which includes:
