The Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship is your gateway to becoming an active leader in nurturing children's learning and development. This apprenticeship is designed to cultivate confident, skilled practitioners who can plan, lead, and deliver exceptional early education aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

As an apprentice, you'll immerse yourself in vibrant childcare settings, working hand-in-hand with seasoned early years professionals in nurseries and preschools. Together, you’ll create nurturing, inclusive environments that empower every child, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll develop advanced knowledge, skills, and behaviours crucial for high-quality early years practice, including:

  • Crafting and leading engaging, play-based learning activities
  • Fostering children's communication, language, and early literacy skills
  • Observing, assessing, and tracking children's progress to inform next steps
  • Championing children's health, safety, well-being, and emotional resilience
  • Implementing inclusive strategies to support diverse needs
  • Building strong, positive relationships with parents and carers
  • Upholding safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities
  • Serving as a positive role model within the early years team

You will also complete:

  • The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required)
  • A professional portfolio showcasing your competence and reflective practice

Funding and Support

Levy-Paying Employers: Utilise your Apprenticeship Levy to fully fund your training.

Non-Levy Employers: The government covers 95% of training costs, requiring only a 5% employer contribution. Full funding is available for learners aged 16–21. Our Business Development Team is here to assist you with funding, eligibility, and enrollment.

  • Typical Duration: 12–18 months Delivery Model: Our delivery model offers a flexible, blended learning experience tailored to your work role, including:

    - Engaging face-to-face learning sessions and workplace observations

    - Interactive online learning activities

    - Regular one-to-one tutor support and progress reviews

    This structure empowers you to enhance your skills while gaining invaluable practical experience in your setting.
Assessment
  • Throughout the program, you’ll create a portfolio that highlights your learning journey and professional growth. At the culmination of your apprenticeship, you’ll undergo an End Point Assessment (EPA), which includes:

    - A professional discussion

    - A knowledge test

    - A workplace observation to showcase your practice
